Sometimes in life you find people who help you achieve more than you could have done by yourself. That is how it has been for EmmCee and I. I think independently we had the ideas and drive, and I’ll leave you to guess who brings what. But without the other might have applied them in different ways. I had watched “Escape to River Cottage” and had been captivated by the idea of producing my own food but lacked the opportunity. When EmmCee and I began our relationship we returned to this programme and shared love for the idea. So we set about turning the garden of EmmCee’s house into an allottment and building a chicken run so we could enjoy our own eggs. Since then we’ve become beekeepers. Been on pig and chicken keeping courses. Bought books, watched programmes and most importantly of all kept dreaming.
Raising children has limited our progress at times but as they’ve grown up some of our youthful enthusiasm has returned and I hope to share some of those stories with you. I’m going to make some posts discussing things we’ve done rather than things we’re doing because there are some lessons and love that I wan to share.
