Woodworking – Pan Rack

One of this years projects has been stripping out and rebuilding the kitchen which has taken much of my time but been an enjoyable task. The main purpose being to refresh the room but also make it much more usable. A small addition to the project has been a home made pan rack to get the pans out of cupboards and into a more ergonomic location.

Woodworking – Back Door Porch

I finally got down to one of my long term projects the back door porch. There is a lot I love about my house but being unable to leave the back door open in the rain is not one of them. So I got the bits together and got on with it.

First Workbench – Part 2

So unlike the workbench which I finished in two days I have put off completing First Workbench build story for quite some time. What can I say I was distracted by other stories to tell. In my last post I’d completed the legs, stretchers and skirt and was about to move on to assembly.

First Workbench – part 1

So for many woodworkers, myself included, one of the first serious rites of passage is building your own workbench. I’d been using my trusty Black and Decker WorkMate for probably 10 years and it has many qualities but big and sturdy is not foremost amongst them. So once the workshop was in a reasonable state of completion, which for me was floor, back wall and ceiling painted and electrics complete, it was time to start building my first workbench.
